WHO WE ARE
ABOUT UTKARSH SRIVASTAVA FOUNDATION
Utkarsh Srivastava Foundation is a trust registered under the Indian Trusts Act 1882, in July 2012. The Foundation is named after late Utkarsh Srivastava , who was a philanthropist and was working advertently towards the social causes. The goals of USF are inspired from his vision and goals, majorly including environmental protection, sustainability, stray-animal welfare, health, legal-aid and most importantly education.
USF also aims to uplift and empower women, children and weaker sections of the society. The work done by USF in the past thirteen years has had a remarkable and transformative impact on communities at large, leading to significant positive change. Since its formation, USF has been majorly operating in Ghaziabad and Lucknow districts of Uttar Pradesh.
Core Functions and Roles
- Environmental Protection: Tree plantation, plastic and other waste management, recycling, spreading awareness through seminars and workshops, sustainability, educating about sustainable development goals.
- Service Delivery: Providing essential services like food, shelter, medical care, especially in areas where governments are unable or unwilling to do so.
- Advocacy and Awareness: Raising public awareness about critical issues, lobbying policymakers, and campaigning for legislative changes on a local, national, or international scale.
- Community Development and Empowerment: Mobilizing communities at the grassroots level, providing training, and helping individuals understand their rights and potential power to control their own lives.
- Humanitarian Assistance: Often among the first responders during natural disasters or conflicts, offering rapid relief and support to affected populations.
- Free Medical and Legal Aid: Providing free medical and legal aid to the financially weaker section of the society. Beyond general care, USF focuses on specific needs, such as mental health support, maternal care, or assisting those with chronic conditions, often through mobile clinics reaching underserved areas. In the same way legal aid services include assistance with family law, housing issues, domestic violence cases, benefits access and consumer protection. A significant portion of legal aid is delivered through pro bono programs, where private attorneys volunteer their time to represent eligible clients.
- Stray Animal Welfare: Providing shelter, food and medical treatment to stray animals.
- Education: USF is running a 10+2 CBSE affiliated English medium school, Chinhat Lucknow and provides world class education by removing any form of discrimination or social barrier.
Our Impact:
Since our inception, USF has successfully implemented over 50 projects and directly improved the lives of 10, 000 individuals. Our work is funded through a combination of membership dues, grants, and private donations, and we rely on the dedication of our staff and volunteers to achieve our goals.
Awards:
USF annually organizes ‘Utkarsh Samman’. ‘Utkarsh Samman’ felicitates various dignitaries and achievers from different fields. This award is meant to encourage and uplift the young achievers who are also working towards social causes and are contributing their time and energy to make a positive impact.
